zuidoever part of community based workspaces de Hoorn
a rich history
Next to De Hoorn in Sluisstraat and a beautiful industrial building located in the extension of the legendary café De Lantaarn on the Leuvense Vaartkom, a showpiece with history and character. In the past, the building housed Brouwerij De Dijle, which, together with Brouwerij De Hoorn, formed the cradle of Stella Artois.

“Zuidoever is a colorful mix of people and companies who love connection and crossover with other sectors. But above all, it's a great place to work for people who love urban vibes, located between the banks of the Vaartkom and the Dijle, with green parks, playful water, culture, and good food.”

Expansion of community-based workspaces
De Hoorn is one of the pioneers of the revitalized Vaartkom and is actively contributing to strong urban development by repurposing iconic buildings into new urban attractions. Authentic places where cross-pollination, innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship go hand in hand.
Creating urban energy. Need we say more? Yes! Because with the purchase of the Zuidoever building, this inspiring playground is expanding further, primarily as a unique community-based workspace.
Alongside De Hoorn in Sluisstraat and the Studio Manhattan Ateliers a little further down Vaartkom, Zuidoever will become the leading workspace that fits seamlessly into this urban dynamic. A new attraction for like-minded entrepreneurs who know how to combine hard work with a good dose of fun. Call it a network of kindred spirits. Down to earth, with a little quirkiness, but always with a generous helping of happiness & joy. Locally rooted with an international appeal.
"De Hoorn's community-based workspaces are unique in every way. At three iconic locations, we support young, creative, and ambitious start-ups as well as innovative companies in full growth.
De Hoorn offers makerspaces in Studio Manhattan Ateliers, co-working and flexible units in De Hoorn, and larger offices in Zuidoever.
But above all, it's a community with a welcoming and warm vibe!"
