About De Hoorn
De Hoorn is an event venue and heritage venue in the former brewery in the Vaartkom district of Leuven, where the first Stella Artois was brewed in 1926. The building combines event spaces, meeting rooms, a workspace, 9 lofts and a bar with restaurant.
The Den Hoorn brewery opened in 1923, and Stella was produced here until the 1980s. The building is a protected monument and the historic copper brewing kettles are still in place. De Hoorn has been part of the Flanders Heritage Venue network since 2018.
A second venue, Studio Manhattan (Kolonel Begautlaan 21, 3012 Leuven), is within walking distance: a former dance club and TV and recording studio. Both venues can be combined.

Not suitable for: dance parties in the Skyboxes and the Multifunk. Candles and other open flames, confetti and glitter are not allowed anywhere in the building, because it is a protected monument.
Spaces and capacity
The largest combination at De Hoorn is Machinezaal + Hangar + Atrium: up to 500 people for a dance party. The largest single hall is the Machinezaal, with 200 people for a dance party. Studio Manhattan holds a maximum of 1080 people.
The Atrium and Hangar are extensions of the Machinezaal and are not rented separately. The Skyboxes (Skybox King and Skybox Queen) are the rooftop spaces of De Hoorn. All spaces at De Hoorn can be combined, and the meeting rooms serve as break-out rooms.
Skybox packages start at 30 people; a custom quote is possible for smaller groups.

Catering and accommodation
All catering at De Hoorn is provided by the in-house caterer Papillot, with chef Aaron De Ceuster; outside caterers are not allowed at De Hoorn. At Studio Manhattan your own caterer is allowed for a buy-out fee; drinks there are always supplied by De Hoorn.
Formats: breakfast and breaks, lunch buffets, reception bites, walking dinner, seated dinner, buffets, barbecue, street food, food sharing (up to 100 people), midnight snacks and desserts. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other adapted dishes are available if requested in time. From 30 people there is a drinks package; for smaller groups drinks are charged by consumption.
The restaurant uses seasonal vegetables and organic meat. Lunch: Tuesday to Friday, 12:00–14:00. Dinner: Tuesday to Saturday, 18:00–21:00. Closed on Sundays and public holidays. Groups of 10 or more are welcome, with group menus for up to 50 people. Vegetarian dishes are marked, allergens are listed for each dish and there is a children’s menu.
The bar is open Monday to Friday 8:00–24:00, on Saturday 14:00–24:00 (1 April to 1 November) or 17:00–24:00 (1 November to 1 April), and is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Overnight stays are possible in 9 furnished lofts at the top of the building, available from one night: a standard loft of 55 m² for 2 people, a premium loft of 80 m² for 2 people and a loft with an extra bedroom of 75 m² for 4 people. Every loft has a kitchen and a washing machine and is wheelchair friendly. A baby or child bed is optional. Book via housing@dehoorn.eu.

De Hoorn is at Sluisstraat 79, 3000 Leuven, in the Vaartkom district.
- Train: Leuven station is a 15 to 20 minute walk.
- Bus: Leuven OPEK stop, next to the building.
- Parking: Vaartkom city car park, Engels Plein 32, with about 1000 spaces, a 3 minute walk away. Maximum €10 per 24 hours; night rate €5 between 19:00 and 07:00. EV charging points available. De Hoorn can provide exit tickets. The Tweewaters car park is also nearby.
- By car: there is no through road between OPEK and De Hoorn. Loading and unloading is possible in front of the main entrance or along the side of the building.
- Studio Manhattan (Kolonel Begautlaan 21, 3012 Leuven) is within walking distance of De Hoorn and the Vaartkom car park, and has 15 parking spaces next to the building.
